Hills Homeschool Ministry is proud to present a Weekend of Workshops
for kids, teens, and adults of all ages, to be held the weekend of
August 11th and 12th 2017 . (Specific schedule below) For the kids, this weekend should really be called the Weekend of Funshops! Our purpose is to expose kids and teens to as many different disciplines as possible. Our planned classes include everything from art to engineering, from leather working to line dancing, from self defense to paracord
weaving and so much more! We believe that life long passions and
talents begin with a small taste of a skill or interest that leaves our
children wanting to know more and we are hoping to expose your children
to many interesting things! For the parents, we
are planning some deep, nitty gritty training in both Biblical
Parenting and Homeschooling. For some classes, like "Basic
Christianity" and "Why You Can Trust The Bible," teens will be taught
alongside the parents. We know that many parents struggle with how to
discuss these subjects with their teens and there is always more we can
learn about the subjects ourselves. We hope to give you some solid
information that will enrich this conversation in your family at home. One
of our classes, "Meeting God Together in His Word" taught by Becky
Powers, is a hands-on class involving both parents and children. All
of our classes will inform, encourage, and enlighten. They are there
to help you to think differently about what "school" and "faith" can
mean to you. There
is no "baby food" in these classes -- they are full on "meat," as the
Bible says. Most of us are saved Christians and these classes are
designed for YOU. We firmly believe in God's call for the older women
to disciple and mentor the younger and for the younger women to be
humble enough to listen to the wisdom of their elders. If
you think that homeschooling is just about teaching your children to
read, we hope that you come out of these workshops with a much broader
view of what is possible, along with a firmer resolve and a more
profound purpose. Friday evening after the workshops there will be an opportunity to meet and chat with the speakers . This will give you the opportunity to ask questions and get to know them personally. Any child who will not behave or obey teachers will be escorted to their parents. There will be no refunds if a child misses a class due to their behavior. Parents MUST attend the conference with their children. Parents may attend alone - but children may not. Please bring a sack lunch, in a plainly marked "family" bag to avoid cross contamination or allergy problems. Parents will be responsible for their own family at lunch time, including cleaning up after them and delivering them back to class after lunch. Children should wear play clothes that you don't mind if they get messy. Dads are free!! After July 31st, ticket prices will increase to $20.00 per person. (Registration is not finished until you have completed both actions below. Amount is number attending times-ten. Payments go to Deb@vhhomeschool.com) If you want to add a donation to help pay for someone who can't afford to go, simply add that to your payment. If you can't afford the tickets to come, please message me at deb@vhhomeschool.com and we will try to get you a scholarship. Speakers
